Relaxed holiday in Ayia Napa
Specially waited for October for a trip to Cyprus. This is an ideal month, especially at the beginning. The weather and the sea will definitely please you. In addition, the flow of tourists is significantly reduced. And by the end of October, and therefore by the end of the season, prices in shops and even in bars are reduced.
This year we chose Ayia Napa. We traveled together, one child 12 years old and two adults.
Hotel Christofinia 4 *, is located in 5 minutes proximity to the famous beaches of Nissi and Nissi Bay Beach. On the sides there are also other, calmer beaches and lagoons, for every taste!
The child liked Nissi Bay the most. There are quite a lot of people there and various competitions are organized in the bar (for example, dancing girls in wet T-shirts) to funny music. Fun and youth.
To eat at the beach bar is expensive – 8.5 Euro sandwich (burger) or something similar to our shawarma. But very tasty. Perhaps these sensations after bathing) Beer and water (Cola or Sprite, for example), for 4 Euros. Although you can walk just 5 minutes to the nearest store, prices are cheaper there. You can buy a large piece of pizza for 2.5 Euros or a large donut with a filling for 1.5.
The hotel is located almost at the entrance to the city, so interesting places (cafes, souvenir shops, shops, attractions), on the one hand, to the left of the main entrance of the hotel. On the right is a driveway leading into the unknown. On the left we went once to a remote beach. There were even no shops along the way.
We walked to the left. The nearest cafe, Italian cuisine, walk about 7-8 minutes. Farther away are local cafes, tastier and more colorful.
They didn’t eat often at the cafe (there was an HB system). Sometimes we went to lunch. Very tasty omelettes with different meat fillings and a large portion of salad in addition (8 Euros), a bottle of wine from 10 Euros. And in the shops they took excellent wine for 4 Euros! Beer 3-4 E. And in stores for 1 Euro! Greek Moussaka (recommend!) 8.5 – 9 Euro. Seafood salad – 7.5 E. Children’s cocktails (Mickey Mouse, Cinderella) – 3 Euro. Ice cream (very tasty, as in childhood) at 2 E per ball and free fillers. If the owner of the cafe is in a good location, then he can, for example, present the same ice cream to a child as a gift. It was like that, twice)
In the evenings, until the sun set, I personally went swimming in a quiet lagoon, to the right of Nissi Bay beach. Very romantic and sincere: crowded, crimson sunset colors the sky, gentle and warm clear water!
The only minus of this area (outskirts) of Ayia Napa is that there is no promenade for walking (as, for example, in Protaras). In the evenings, we really missed it. And it’s not fun to go 4-5 bus stops (price during the day is 1.5 E, after 21.00 – 2.5 E) or walk 40 minutes to the promenade in the city center.
Once went to the street of bars in the evening. Got on large-scale walks. Perhaps there was some local holiday. Discharged (kaspley) artists performed on the street, showed a fire show, in a very colorful stone castle, opera singers sang. Crowds of people walked around the center and had fun. Later we visited a bar where we were offered a choice of cocktails (huge) and three small shots (with liqueurs and schnapps) for 9 Euros per one. Periodically replenished a free bowl of poporn. Toward night, strolling near other cereal establishments, we were actively awarded discounts on the same “rations”, but already at 6-5 Euros per person. So, it is better to come to bars and discos closer to midnight, for discounts and shows).
