bottom of the sea
The coast of Cuba, many years ago, was appreciated by Christopher Columbus. Cuba is a lot of small islands that are washed by the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. They are located between the Americas. The prices here are very low, so more and more tourists go to these places in order to have a good rest and enjoy the beautiful nature and the burning sun. But there are things that every guest of the islands should know about. These rules came in handy for our family and I will tell about them so that future tourists are thoroughly prepared.
1. Vaccinations. Before flying to Cuba, almost everyone is offered vaccinations against hepatitis A, diphtheria and tetanus. This was done many decades ago and is practiced today, although infectious diseases are not common now and the chances of getting sick are minimal. I note – they offer vaccinations, but in some way do not insist on them! If you want to make them, take care of this a month before departure, so that the body has time to develop immunity. The reaction is different for everyone and I do not want to spend the whole vacation in bed with temperature. Before departure, it is better to arrange the simplest insurance. Continue reading
After seeing the weather forecast in Cyprus at the end of May, we decided that it was time to go on vacation! The sea was quite warm (about 24 degrees), and due to the fact that it is shallow in Larnaca, the water near the shore was like fresh milk. During the day the air warmed up to 35 degrees, but the nights were pretty cool, so they did not use air conditioning in the room.
Since it is quite expensive to eat in Cyprus, we chose the all-inclusive system, fortunately, at the beginning of the season the prices are very pleasant. We lived at the Crown Resorts Henipa 3+ * hotel, seven kilometers from the center of Larnaca. The rooms are modest and in need of repair, but a large green area, excellent food and high-quality alcohol in the bar compensate for all other shortcomings. The sea is across the road, the beach is pebble, but a meter after entering the water, sand begins. There is nowhere to go especially in the evening, so we went for a walk in Larnaca or Ayia Napa (1.5 euros one way on a city bus). In Ayia Napa it is noisy and fun, in Larnaca it is much calmer. This was not the first time we went to Gran Canaria; we were on the island in spring, and on New Year’s, and in autumn. In my opinion, the ideal time to travel with children is from mid-September to almost the end of November. At this time there is no strong heat, storms and the ocean is noticeably warmer. It was hot in June, but we still had a great rest. Both in the pool and in the ocean, children were bathed before lunch and after 6 pm. June is good for surfers – often there was a good wind and decent waves.
Most resort towns are located on the south side of the island. If you want to settle closer to the best beach of the island – the dunes of Maspalomas, then you should stay in one of the hotels in this part of the island. Of the areas near the coast I least like San Augustin – there is an old dense building, and the lack of greenery is compensated by green youth, who sometimes relax too loudly and cheerfully.
